I Heart Pretty Pillows

I was on Etsy today and found some fun pillows. Seeing all these cute pillows inspired me to do a post on pillow love! It's awesome how one pillow can add a little spark to a couch or chair. Hope you enjoy!

The Trip to the Farm

Yesterday Paul and I headed to the farm with his parents. This was my first trip to the farm. Since Grandpa lived with Paul's parents, the house sat abandoned for close to 14 years. Paul had warned me that the house was in bad shape. And in my mind I had prepared myself for the worst. But when we got there nobody had any clue what the inside would look like. The inside was destroyed. It was sad to see all the memories and pictures scattered everywhere, like nothing mattered. Since they were planning on bulldozing the house, I decided to grab some pictures for future memories.

Though there were a lot of things destroyed, we manged to find some treasures in the wreckage.

This was one of the only windows left that still had all the glass attached and wasn't broken.
These are two of my favorite pieces pulled out of the house. The long board is from the mud room, and I think it will look perfect in a laundry room once I get to sanding it down and repainting it.
But out of everything we pulled out of the house, I think this has to be my all time favorite. This is a bible that was given to Paul's Great-Grandpa Max for Christmas in 1904. The bible is missing a few pages but it is still in good enough condition. I heart old things!

Target Tuesday - Shoes

I love Target Tuesday! This week I'm featuring shoes!

First off I want to highlight my target purchase from this weekend. I needed a cute pair of sandals for my Easter dress for Sunday. Luckily Target had these on sale for $12 and they matched perfectly with the dress.
I tried these on this weekend..but they didn't have this fun yellow :(
Finally I love heels and these are extremely cute!

T-Shirt Jewelry!

Rainy Night = Crafty Night!
Like most people I have t-shirts coming out of my ears. Every time I volunteer or work someplace I get a t-shirt. Some of them are ones I won't wear again and so they just sit in my closet. This clip of Rules of Engagement is kind of how I feel.

Luckily I have an amazing mom who makes quilts out of my t-shirts. Which is what ends up happening to the college t-shirts in the episode. Anyways...enough about my closet full of t-shirts and on with the crafting.

One of the t-shirts that I will never wear again.

The final project. I got two necklaces out of one t-shirt.
The braided t-shirt necklace came from...I Still Love You
The other one came from... Were Are Not Martha

It's The Weekend!!!

It's the WEEKEND. And the best thing about this weekend is...it's 3 days long!
So here is what my weekend will consist of...
Friday Night...Dinner with these too Yahoos at YaYa's Pizza
Saturday...Nothing planned right now. But if weather permits, Paul and I might head out to the Farm and do some digging for treasures in the old house. Kind of like pirates, but only we aren't on a boat and the buried treasure is in Nebraska on a farm :)
Sunday....Easter Sunday! This happens to be my favorite holiday of the year for many reasons.
1. It celebrates Jesus risen from the dead!
2. It's fun to get a new Easter Dress
3. I get to spend it with my family and Paul's family
4. It's spring time!
5. Easter candy is my favorite...especially jelly beans and chocolate eggs!
So for Easter Paul and I are going to church with his family and then have lunch with them. (And I get to wear my new dress from the Gap that was only...$17) yeah a bargin :)  Then we are going to head to Hickman, NE (small hick town 10 miles south of Lincoln) to visit my side of the family. It should be an all out fun time!

What are your plans for Easter??
Then on Monday...I plan to sleep, EXERCISE to work off all the jelly beans, chocolate and food I ate from the day before, and go shopping with Liz for wedding stuff.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

This what I'm Loving this Wednesday.
PHONE BOOK GIFT BOWS
Don't know what to do with last year's phone book?
Don't fret make bows!
A phone book, scissors and glue is all you need!
I cut 6 long strips, 5 strips 3 inches shorter then the long ones and 1 strip that was an inch or so long.
Then just start gluing!

Finished...can't wait to wrap presents!

And I'm loving the fact that this Friday Water for Elephants is in the theaters!

I am currently reading the book and LOVE IT!
I can't put it down it's that good!

Target Tuesday - Bathroom Makeover

I have officially been living in my apartment for 2 years now and finally have got around to the bathroom. Even though I'm just renting I figured they won't mind if I change a few things while I'm here just to make it look nicer...Right?
Here are the ugly shower doors... If I wasn't renting these things would be gone for GOOD! They are so hard to clean and they never look nice. So I took the doors off and found some great supplies at Target.

This makeover was all done for under $50 and it looks fabulous!

Gardenia Flower

This is a super easy flower to make!
Supplies
Felt
Glue
Scissors
Bead (not pictured)
Cut out four big flower shape and one smaller flower shape and a circle.
Fold one big flower shape in half and then in half again.
Repeat that step for all the big flowers and glue them to the circle.
Cut four slits into the small flower shape.
Glue it on top and then glue a bead in the center. So easy! I used this flower and glued it to a headband.
