Birthday Wishes

Today is Bella's birthday. She is 2!

Look how little she was...she use to sit in this basket all the time when she was a baby. 

Now she is so big she had to find a new alternative to the basket.

Simple Things

This week I am in Dallas, TX at ECHO Conference. This is a conference for creative people who work in Non-profits and churches. Since being at this conference I have found great appreciation for some simple things:

♥Meeting new people who have the same passion you do...to grow the Kingdom of God through graphics, music and communications.

♥Worshipping with a large group of people

♥Ice Cream from the Ice Cream Truck that take you back to when you were six

♥Talking to Paul on the phone 

♥Meeting Jon Acuff and getting my book signed by him

♥Air Conditioning...its HOT in Texas!!!!

Leaving on a Jetplane Headed to TEXAS

It is officially one day and a few short hours till I board a plane and head to Dallas, Texas! I have honestly never visited Texas and I'm extremely excited about my trip. Paul says I have to each at Whataburger.... A colleague and I are headed to Dallas for a conference... It is the Echo Conference to be exact. This is a three day conference on Communications in churches. I'm also really excited because I found out that one of my sorority sisters Emily and her husband will be there as well...

I'm really hopping we can come away from this conference with lots of information to help us at work. And I hope that Paul will survive with the kitties for three days and I don't come home to this...

Sidekick Sunday

Happy Sunday!!!

What do you love most about your sidekick(s)... I love waking up in the morning to purring and rubbing. It's the little things that make me love them more. 

Do they have any habits you wish they'd change, if any... Most of the bad habits that both Bella and Khloe have they have seem to grow out of. Bella feels it is necessary to have "Kitty Kitty" food (a.k.a. wet cat food) all the time. She could eat every hour of the day if she really wanted to or matter of fact if we allowed her to. Bella does have one REALLY bad habit that she has had since we got her as a kitten. She eats people food. So when Paul and I sit down for a meal there is Bella begging like a puppy. She loves everything that we eat and her favorites are Arby's roast beef sandwiches and beef jerky. 

What does your sidekick do that can instantly make you laugh or smile... Honestly there is no words to describe this so I think a picture will have to do...

It never fails I can always find Bella and Khloe laying around like this and I think it is hilarious!

Khloe turned 1 on Thursday.... So (Paul thought I was nuts btw) I made a birthday hat out of scrapbooking paper and ribbon for Khloe. She actually let me put it on her too. 

Random Saturday

Today I headed to my home town of Wahoo! 

One of my good friends from high school is getting married August 21st. So we had her bridal shower today. Along with being one of her personal attendants I also get the pleasure of singing in her wedding! Her and I use to sing in choir together and her dream was to have me sing in her wedding. Now the funny thing about this is that I haven't sung in FOREVER, not counting the random times I burst out in song in my car. This is the song that I'm singing...which by the way I LOVE right now. 

I wasn't a huge Adele fan, but lately I can't get enough of her.

Fill In The Blank Friday

Today is fill in the blank Friday....

This is my first time linking up with Lauren over at "the little things we do"

1. One of my happiest moments ever was ... When Paul asked me to marry him. We had been talking about the idea for awhile, but I was totally shocked and surprised when he finally popped the question!

2.  Summer is wedding season and weddings are...Stressful! Well I take that back, they are mostly stressful. Right now we have the date, church and venue booked so things have let up a little bit.

3.  This summer ... Hasn't felt like summer to me. I know its over a 100 degrees everyday and I hate the thought of going outside in this heat. But I haven't got to go to the lake that often or been on a real vacation yet. It seems like the little things have taken up my time and haven't allowed me to have FUN!

4.  My summer food of choice has been ... Corn on the cob! Paul has picked up some corn on the cob at the grocery store and it is AMAZING! The positive about living in a corn state is there is limitless amounts of corn.

5.  My summer uniform has been ... surprisingly Dress!!! I am not a girly girl by any means and usually my summer outfits consist of gym shorts and t-shirts. But to work I have enjoyed wearing dresses.

6.  If I could spend the entire summer in one location I would choose .... I would have to say San Diego, CA. I fell in love with that city on a work trip and I am dying to go back and visit.

7.  My summer anthem is... Dirt Road Anthem by Jason Aldean. I grew up in a small town and our summers were spent on a old dirt road. Those were the summers.

The Simple Things

Here are a few of the simple things that I appreciate this week...

♥ My wonderful Fiance - for the love and support he has given me!

♥ Chocolate Milk...forgot how good it is!

♥ Rain, thunderstorms and cooler weather.

♥Time spent with family...always appreciate a little sister bonding now and then.

♥ For clean carpets - the carpet in our apartment was cleaned yesterday and now looks brand new!

♥ Sleeping in

♥ A simple message at church that makes you think about how you act.

♥ Random dinner dates!

♥Seeing my friends go through milestones in their lives and being able to share those times with them.

On another note I just realized....

Weekend in Pictures

This weekend was the HOTTEST weekend of summer so far. I think it would have been possible to fry and egg on the sidewalk. So this weekend was spent indoors in the air conditioning as much as possible. I am loving my iphone and thought that I would use my iphone to capture my weekend in pictures.

Sunday

This morning I had to get ready around these two yahoos...

Bella and Khloe's entertainment is water especially if it is coming out of a faucet! So getting ready for church this morning was extra hard. Then after lunch Paul, his mom, his sister, my mom and my two sisters and I ventured to a bridal fair. I was HIGHLY disappointed in the fact that we couldn't take pictures. But I was able to snap a few from the fashion show.

These were just a few of the dresses I liked. Hope you all had an amazing weekend. 

Friday...Weekend Breakdown

Paul and I were talking about the weekends coming up and EVERY WEEKEND until Labor Day we have something going on...Looks like our getaway trip will have to wait. So here is the breakdown of what my weekend is going to look like.

Tonight...

My parents are coming this weekend and so you've guessed it I have to clean. The heat does not put me in a cleaning mood. I wish my mom would just get the idea that...

 Anyways...Saturday looks like I get to do a whole lot of nothing unless my sister Erica comes and visits, then SHOPPING! 

 Sunday...I get to travel with the family and in-laws for an fun adventure to...

 you've guessed it a Bridal Fair.
