Fun with our Phones Monday!

Linking up with Erin and Savanah for Fun With Our Phones Monday!

First off Happy Halloween!
Last Monday when Paul and I went to look at tuxes for the wedding we found out that celebrities were at the Mall. Of course we had to stop by and get some pictures! :)
Trying on tuxes was fun...and did you notice the 3 tuxes are in our colors. And no I didn't plan for them to be like that either. That is honestly how they were when we got there.
One of my favorite pieces of Halloween candy...looks gross but tastes amazing!
Early morning tailgating with my love! Oh and good news I don't have to post a depressing comment about losing because we WON! Woot Woot Go Big Red! It was such an exciting game to watch.
The fiance's new gloves he got for the game. I think they were good luck. They were so cool we actually debated about having on of our engagement pictures with them on.

Have an amazing Monday!

Perfect Harmony!

Have you all seen the advertisements for the TV show Sing Off on NBC???

I have loved A Capella music since I was a little girl. Growing up with a dad who sang Barbershop music I was around it all the time. Instead of listening to the "Popular" music growing up my dad and I would belt out Barbershop music instead, which is where my passion for singing started.

If you haven't seen the show, it is nothing but A Capella music and the groups have to only use vocals to make music. The great thing about this show is I have found some amazing music as a result.
Yesterday, Pandora found a group for me and I'm in LOVE now!

The music group is "On the Rocks". They are a group of guys who go to Oregon University and they actually were contestants on season 2 of the Sing Off.

Aren't they amazing!!! Luckily I can listen to them all day at work thanks to Spotify!

And don't forget today is the last day you can sign up for the Fall Blog Swap! Click here if you haven't signed up already! Jessica and I have 50 people signed up which is so exciting! Monday the partners will be posted on both Jessica and I's blog! So check back Monday and see who you have!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Eff, Marry, Kill

photobucket

I'm linking up with Heather and Michelle for this AWESOME one time link up.

The point of this link up is to share 3 celebrities and between the 3 you have to pick which one you would "ahem" make babies with, marry and like to disappear. I'm not going to say kill because I would never want to kill anyone...I don't promote violence.

So here are my three picks...I am featuring the lead stars in Grey's Anatomy for this one.
Ok I would like to make babies with Eric Dane (Mark Sloan). I mean come on who wouldn't?!? I would want to marry Patrick Dempsey (Derrick Shepherd). I would love waking up to that for the rest of my life! (No offense Paul LOVE you to death!) And finally I wouldn't mind seeing Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) go away. He just gets on my nervous.

Out of these three who would you eff, marry, kill (make go away)?

P.S. Don't forget to sign up for the Fall Blog Swap. I mean come on who doesn't want to get a new scarf and nail polish in the mail??? Click here to sign up!

What I'm Loving

Linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm Loving...

...that so many of you have signed up for Jessica and I's Fall Blog swap. If you still want to sign up for the fall swap click here! Sign up ends Friday! I can't wait to start shopping for my partner. There are so many amazing scarves I want to buy!

...that our engagement pictures are this weekend! I still have yet to find an outfit but I'm sure I will figure something out on Saturday. I'm also really excited that the weather is going to be half way decent for the day too.

...that we found a DJ at the Bridal Fair on Sunday. He gave us a gift certificate for $200 off since nobody claimed his prize from the fair. I thought this was a stellar deal!

...that this weekend is a HUGE game for my Nebraska Cornhuskers. Bring on Michigan State!
Hopefully you won't have to see a depressing post on Monday about the loss!

...my blogging friends! I am so amazed out how many amazing gals I have met through my blog and twitter. I am loving the friendships I have received as a result of following people's blogs.

...the 5th season of Dexter. I have been waiting a LONG time for it. A gal from work gives me the seasons when she is done with them. OMG it keeps getting better. But I will confess that sometimes during the murder parts or bloody parts I fast forward through them or close my eyes. The first season kind of gave me nightmares. And no I'm not ashamed to say that.
via

...the fact that I have gone a week without soda/pop!!! It hasn't been as hard as I thought it was going to be. I only truly miss it in the morning when I need my caffeine fix.

...this outfit! So comfy and classic.

...finally I'm loving my fiancé. He is amazing and I can't imagine life without him.

Fun With Phones Monday!

Linking up with Savanah and Erin for Fun with Our Phones Monday.

This week has FINALLY felt like fall in Nebraska. I feel that it might have even felt like winter a little bit.

On Friday I woke up to 20 degree weather. And yes that is frost on my windows.
I still feel its a little early to be scraping my windows....I'm so not ready for snow.

This weekend Paul and I didn't do to much. Lazy weekends are the best!!!
Sunday we did venture out of the house and attended a Bridal Fair at Embassy Suites.
Our giant bags of stuff. Wish I could say it is useful stuff.
Bella loves when we bring new bags home. She explores them both on the outside and inside.
The countless trees that were lost for the sake of my wedding planning.
Like I said I really wish this stuff was all useful but most of it will find the trash eventually.

And finally I wanted to share with you all what I do when I'm bored...

I love this iPhone app...its called Popbooth if you ever get bored and want to try it out.

******************
P.S. Make sure to check back tomorrow! Jessica @ You Are My Color and I are going to host our first ever Fall Swap where we will be swapping a scarf and a bottle of nail polish. Sign ups start tomorrow!

As of 5 hours ago I mad a decision to give up pop not for the health reasons. I actually gave it up to start my serious wedding diet. I've given soda up before and went 2 years without it. It was amazing how much better I felt and that I did actually lose weight by not drinking it.

Have you ever given up soda??? How long did it last??

Back to Back State Champions

This past week I took 3 days off of work to watch my sister and the Wahoo softball team play in their 6th appearance in the Nebraska State Softball Tournament. The team got to the state tournament on a wild card and showed everyone there that they deserved to be there.

The first day they played West Point Central Catholic and defeated them 9 to 4. With that win they played on Thursday at 10:00 am against Gothenburg. We beat Gothenburg 11 to 4. At 5:30 the same day we played Ashland, who we have played 3 times during the season. We heath them 10 to 2 in 5 innings. Winning this game put us into the Championship. At 3 pm on Friday we played Ashland again who came up through the losers bracket. They played us hard and finally in the 6th inning we started to hit the ball and won the game 10 to 3.

Words can't express how proud I am of my sister and the rest of the girls.

DIY Mouse Pad

Spending countless hours on Pinterest does pay off!
It pays off so much that I landed a cute DIY custom mouse pad!

You'll need:

A Cork Square (you can a pack of 4 at any office supply store or at Walmart)
Fabric of your choice (I went to JoAnns and found square pieces of fabric for $1.99)
Mousepad Printable Shape (optional) or the shape you prefer to have
Heat n Bond (found at Craft/Fabric Stores)

First, cut the mousepad shape or the shape you select out of the piece of paper and trace it onto your cork square. Then, cut the shape out of the cork with scissors. The cork is thin enough to cut with scissors, but you have to have a sharp pair. You can use an exacto knife or box cutter too.

After that iron a piece of Heat n Bond onto the backside of the fabric you want, making sure it is big enough to cover your cork. Then on the backside of the Heat n Bond trace out your shape again.

I used the first inside line on my template to trace the shape because I wanted there to be a cork border around the outside of the fabric. Cut it out and then iron it onto the cork board.

That's it! So easy and simple. I love how it turned out and I think it will look great on my desk!
I might even make one for the office and at home.

Happy Thursday!

100 Follower Giveaway Winner

On the Front Porch

And the winner is...

Congratulations to Amber at Brunch with Amber!
You won the Barberry & Lace Giveaway! I'll be emailing you with more information soon!

I just wanted to say one more time to all of you who entered, thank you for reading and following!
It means so much to me!

How is This OK???

Last night I was over at my future in-laws and the subject of Apple and Steve Jobs became the heated discussion around the table. I guess I really didn't realize that there were so many jokes shared about the passing of Steve Jobs.

Seriously people?!?!?

How is this ok????

Seeing and hearing all the negative talk about Steve Job's death makes me sad. I can't believe that people find this funny! We need to remember that a life was lost to a horrible disease and his family and friends are grieving. We are suppose to love and respect all people and making jokes about someone's death is not something to joke about!

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   Something popular that I can't stand/just don't "get" is  Jersey Shore...seriously what is so exciting about watching a bunch of 20 somethings act like 15 year olds???

2.   Something unpopular that I secretly love is broccoli. Most kids hate it not me I love it!

3.  When I've had a bad day I do something for myself whether that be going to get my nails done or buying myself a bowl of ice cream, either way I find something to make myself happy again.

4. I'd prefer working out  to cleaning  any day.

5.  Something that makes me nervous is the thought of possibly never having kids. It has been one of my biggest fears and now that Paul and I are getting married that fear has increased!

6.  Something worth fighting for is relationships, both family and love.

7.  When people think of me, I hope they think of me as the one with the spunky personality who would do anything for my friends and family!

Have an amazing weekend!!!
P.S. There are only a few days left in the awesome Barberry & Lace Vintage Jewelry Giveaway!
