A few of you saw on the blog and twitter that UPS lost my wedding invites a couple of weeks ago.
First off let me begin by telling you all that the address on the labels were right!
I had picked UPS to deliver them to my apartment since I had not started work yet and knew I would be home. When I realized I still had not received them I got on my email. Come to find out a guy by the name of "Oliver" signed for my package. Since I don't know a person by "Oliver" I called the apartment office to see if they were delivered there. They said they had not seen them.
So my next action was to call UPS and ask them why I had not received my package.
Come to find out the delivery driver delivered them to apartment #77 instead of the right apartment #67. How do you mix these two numbers up?!?!? So I filed a missing package complaint. Then I went up to apartment #77 and knocked on the door to see if he was home. No luck.
When I got back to my apartment I received a phone call from the distribution center that sent the driver and package. They wanted me to come down and sign some papers saying I didn't receive it. When I got down there the customer center was closed. Not only did I not know who to talk to I got yelled at my a driver for being in the wrong place.
I'm sorry someone told me to come down here and sign papers. It's not my fault.
When I finally was connected with the right person she told me there was nothing she could do and didn't have any papers for me to sign. She then went on to tell me the best way to get my package back was to just retrieve it myself. HELLO whose mistake is this?!?!? I left the distribution center crying my eyes out.
THESE WERE MY WEDDING INVITATIONS THAT I PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR AND NOW THEY WERE IN THE HANDS OF SOME STRANGER WHO MIGHT THROW THEM AWAY.
So when I got home Paul told me to go and knock on the apartment door one more time. So I did. "Oliver" answered the door. I asked him if he signed for a package that had my name on it. He said "You mean this one?" In my head I'm thinking what a jerk. He had my invites the entire time and didn't even bother to correct the error and bring them to me.
I have never been so mad, irritated and disappointed in UPS.
I don't know if I will be doing business with them for a while!
